FIRST PRIZE
Personalized Joe Kline Print
[Donated by the artist, and judge]

Judge's Comments:

1st Place - Relocating Mike Force by Dwight Smith. "This shot has
everything, colors, interesting scenery, great composition and clarity. The
purple smoke draws the viewers eye to the LZ and the waiting troops. The
foreground Huey gives the sense that the viewer is actually in the scene,
not just viewing it from a distance."

SECOND PRIZE
Personalized Joe Kline Print

[Donated by the artist, and judge]

Judge's Comments:

2nd Place - River Assault by John Galkiewicz. "Although slightly blurred,
in this case that effect adds to the sense of action, along with the
swirling smoke. Composition is great, capturing the departing aircraft and
the disembarking troops. The river bank adds a level of interest to the
scene also."

THIRD PRIZE
Personalized Joe Kline Print
[Donated by the artist, and judge]

Judge's Comments:

3rd Place - Combat Assault in the Delta by Herbert Degner, submitted by his
son Fritz Degner. "Very pleasing colors and composition. The flight path of
the aircraft goes well with the bend in the river. The silhouette of the
photographer's aircraft windshield and FM Homing antenna places the viewer in
the scene, making him a participant."

JUDGE'S HONORABLE MENTION

Judge's Comments:

Honorable Mention - Islands by John Galkiewicz. "By far the most artistic shot.
Challenging lighting and colors work very well. This looks almost more like a painting
than a photograph."
